Steve Weissman
Steve Weissman anchors SportsNite, a live 30-minute sports newscast focused on Northern California sports that airs weeknights at 11:30 PM.
Weissman joined Comcast SportsNet in August 2006 from WNEM-TV (CBS 5) in Saginaw, MI, where he had served since April 2004 as a Sports Anchor/Reporter. While at WNEM-TV, Weissman covered numerous sporting events, including Super Bowl XL, the 2005 NBA Playoffs, University of Michigan and Michigan State sporting events, and many other college and high school sports.
Originally from Silver Spring, MD, Weissman received his BSJ from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. Upon graduating from Northwestern, Weissman went to WBKB-TV 11 (CBS) in Alpena, Michigan where he worked as a Sports Anchor/Reporter.
Steve’s genuine energy clearly comes across on camera and has landed him numerous awards including five from the Associated Press, seven from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters and one from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association. Although his background is deeply rooted in sports (he was ranked as a junior tennis player in Maryland), his other interests include painting, photography and spending time with friends and family.
