In advance of the April 26-28 draft we've turned to our colleagues at CSNPhilly.com, including Hall of Fame writer Ray Didinger, for a snapshot look at the top-5 players by position. Today we examine the offensive side of the ball.
To prepare for the NFL draft, we will break down to top prospects by position.
Top quarterbacks
First, we take a look at the quarterbacks. This is usually a position with lots of star power and thats particularly true this year. Stanford's Andrew Luck is a virtual lock to go No. 1 overall to Indianapolis and Robert Griffin III should go soon after.

Top 5 running backs
There was a time when running backs were hot items in the NFL draft. Not any more. It would not be a surprise if this years draft unfolded just like last years, that is, with only one running back being selected in the first round. Once again it will be a back from Alabama, in this case, Trent Richardson. He is the class of the field and should be a top 20 pick.

Top wide receivers
The top five wide receiver prospects should be off the board in the first two rounds, and most if not all of the top-10 will be gone by the end of Day 2.

Top tight ends
The tight end class of 2012 is very top heavy, with only three top tier prospects -- all of whom should be gone by the middle of the second round. Coby Fleener from Stanford is among the top five prospects.

Top tackles
The tackle position is fairly deep in the first two rounds but drops off quite a bit after that. I believe if a team wants to find reliable tackle depth for 2012, free agency rather than the draft is going to be the way to proceed.

Top interior linemen
The 2012 class of interior linemen is fairly deep, and if the teams wanted to draft for depth in the middle rounds, they should be able to find themselves a keeper.
